PewDiePie

Felix Ulf Kjellberg, the most subscribed youtuber with over 88 million subscribers and nearly 20.6 billion total views on his channel, the 29-year-old gamer and commentator is more known on the internet asPewDiepie.

In 2010, he made his Youtube channel under the name PewDiePie, followed by dropping out of Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg the next year, he was supposed to study industrial economics and technology management back then, but he ended up dropping out due to lack of interest and to focus more on his Youtube channel, in order to get enough money for the channel, Felix started selling Photoshop art projects, and even worked at a hotdog stand.

Felix began to get recognition and his channel was rapidly growing, passing a million subs in 2012, and being the most subscribed youtuber by 2013, his early Youtube days consisted of let’s play videos, mainly horror games, and then started the series “Fridays with PewDiePie” which is a fan favorite till now, evolving by the days into making more vlog content, and finally as we see it today.

Now, his Felix mostly reacts to memes from his subreddit (LWIAY), And reviewing memes in general (Meme Review), and he uploads the news show “Pew News”, though the show is hosted by Gloria Borger, Poppy Harlow and Gloria Poppy, deeper into his shows, he started LWIAY as a weekly series, where he tells his “Bro Army” to do a challenge and upload it to r/PewdiepieSubmissions subreddit, but the redditors started making memes and uploading them there and things got out of hand, so now he reacts to memes there.

On to Meme Review, he chooses the most viral meme of the week and gives them a score from 1 to 10, and that’s about it, although he started making the bonus meme segment of the show, starting as adding an additional meme to review, but then he started making collaborations with other people to co-host the show, including the 10 million+ subscriber channel owner Mr. Beast, the Rick and Morty writer and voice actor Justin Roiland, and even Elon Musk, that’s right, the multi-millionaire and Tesla owner co-hosted the show, much more collaborations are to come, including collaborations with Will Smith, Dr. Phil, his fiancé Marzia, and many more, expect anyone.

For the show Pew News, he briefly talks about the viral news of celebrities and youtubers, trends and anything about the Youtube algorithm and the ongoing demonetization issue, he hosts the show himself, but goes by the names Gloria Borger, Poppy Harlow and sometimes Gloria Poopy.

Now, Felix is a good guy, he is kind with his fans and respects people, he even donating millions to a variety of charities, but as every famous person on the internet, he had some issues with the media, it all started back in 2017 when he paid some guys on the site Fiverr to write something on a sheet and dance with it, of course he was joking about it and didn’t even think that the guys would do it, but they did, and the media started attacking Felix, all that resulted in what was known as the “apocalypse”, when many companies refused to pay for ads on Youtube after the attention that the situation has gotten, even after that, some sites kept milking the situation for money, most noticeably Wall Street Journal and Vox Media, to the point that they took videos out of context and wrote made up stories and theories, and recently digging up all the channels that he shouts out to see if they have any bit of racism or anti-Semitism, of course, he didn’t really care what the media is saying and focused on making his fans happy, and eventually the whole media attacking PewDiePie thing became a meme, so that’s good (kinda lol).

And of course, how can we talk about PewDiePie and not talk about T-Series, the war is huge between those two channels, it all started as a joke by PewDiePie saying that he is going to be overtaken and that the 9 year old army (as he calls his fans) needs to help, but people took it seriously, creating multiple accounts to boost his subs, and Youtubers who made videos talking about how important is it to help PewDiePie remain the number one channel, because after all this is a creator vs company war, also, people sent millions on ads for him, buying ads on tv, on the streets, making flyers for PewDiePie (*cough cough Mr Beast cough cough*), and it all worked, originally he was supposed to be overtaken the T-Series in late 2018, but here we are, still number one.

Now T-Series isn’t an evil corporation who plans on destroying Youtube, but this rising to number two on Youtube in no time made some people skeptical, some saying they used sub bots, but Felix didn’t really care, until he “ran out of ideas”, and surprised the world by dropping the banger “Bitch Lasagna”, which is meant to be a T-Series distract, the track is full of Indian stereotypes, I mean just look at the title, of course as a typical scenario of PewDiePie being PewDiePie, the whole track is just pure sarcasm, I mean he has a very large indian fanbase, so why would he want to lose them all? And the good thing is his real fans knew that he was just joking, or was he? *V-sause music playing*.

Of course some people were outrageous about the track, but who really cares? Its absolute fire haha, people can say whatever they want as long as Felix is happy and more important, his fans are happy.

Now that’s about it for PewDiePie as an artist, also once recorded himself sing and saying a bunch of stuff so people can remix him, but other than that we didn’t see much of Felix as an artist, maybe he will release more stuff in the future, personally, I would love some PewDiePie tracks in my meme songs playlist.
